A few nice Mother of images I found:
Mother and Child Ambrotype (Collodion Positive) c. 1860

A lovely 1/6th plate hand coloured ambrotype of a mother and child – c. 1860?
I bought this on eBay a good while back now, along with the wonderful named and dated ambrotype of Edmund Baron Hartley VC. I have no reason though to think that she could be connected to him in any way.
The soft beautiful tones are really striking, and in part this is because unlike many ambrotypes it has been mounted with the collodion facing to the front and instead of a painted black lacquer back it is a piece of dark brown velour type material.
This came with a typical brass matt, cover glass and pinchbeck preserver , but no other outer frame or case, and no markings whatsoever.
